Mischa Brooks-Thoma
 
 
Mischa Brooks-Thoma was born in West Vancouver B.C. and spent most of her childhood between there and Powell River. She achieved a Bachelor Degree of Fine Arts at Emily 
Carr Institute in 2002; studying a multitude of techniques, from ceramics and drawing to photography and painting. Mischa graduated from Capilano College with a Diploma in Textiles in 2004, having studied weaving, spinning, dying, and surface design. She is now using the knowledge gained, and her natural talent, to create unique works of art.
Booth set up at Sunshine Music Festival, Powell River BC on Labour day weekend 2008,.

Planning to be at the 2013 festival.

Processes of Dream Imagery

I usually paint from my photography, but I have been gathering images from my dreams.
It really is an equation, working through the layers and steps to make the ideas in my mind come to life.

For the Past few years Mischa has been adding to her ever expanding knowledge in the arts with soap making. She has recently acquired The Powell River Natural Soap Lady business and has started up a small Store called Creative Rift Studio & Gallery where she shares the studio with her good friend Jillian Amatt The Gallery features over 25 local Powell River Artists. Mischa has her collection of photographs, cards, prints & art, as well as a variety of soap and bath products made from 100% natural materials and essential oils.
